next to the library.  On Rexford Dr. cross the street  and walk straight through the Palm Court. 

Look on your right for a green door CPR classroom. 

 

Heartsaver First Aid With CPR & AED is a classroom course that is designed to meet OSHA requirements. The course teaches basic first Aid, CPR, and AED skills such as: • Helping someone with a possible broken bone or sprain • Giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Choking and control

bleeding. 

 

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.

This class is for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists. 

 

In this program, students complete the cognitive portion of BLS for adult, child and infant patients. There is a series of self-paced online modules. Students answer short multiple choice questions within case based scenarios and recieve feedback based on their answers, to proceed through to the ciritical checkpoints. 
This course is for healthcare providers seeking an initial or renewal BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card. A skills session will follow once the online course is completed. Look in your email for the  online course from the AHA. 

The Family & Friends Infant CPR program teaches how to perform CPR on infants and to help an infant who is choking. All fees are per person. 

 

Family members, friends and members of the general community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card. This program also can be a non-credentialed option for middle- and high-school students

 

The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches CPR, how to use a AED (Automatic External Defibullatior) and relief of choking in adults and children, children and infant as well as the  use of mouth barrier devices for all ages.

 

For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. This would include teachers, fitness trainers and coaches.

(Healthcare Providers, including Nursing and EMT Students, please register for BLS for Healthcare Providers.)

 

Comprehensive safety training for the workplace.
This course teaches:
  1. First aid basics
  2. Medical emergencies
  3. Adult/child CPR with mask
  4. Adult/child choking
  5. Adult/child AED use
Duration: 2.5 hours online, 45 min. skills session at training center. Skills session sold separately.
 
 
Please note: Your online web key will be sent to you within 24 hours of course registration so long as it's done during normal business hours; Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00PM. Registrations recieved after business hours will be sent the next business day.

The  Instructor Essential course is a prerequisite for:
•    All AHA Instructor candidates
•    AHA Instructors adding other disciplines to their teaching credentials
•    AHA National and Regional Faculty, and Training Center Faculty

The course is also an option for:
• Current AHA Instructors who want to enhance their teaching skills

The course content is based on an adult learning model where participants view a scenario, compare teaching principles, and determine which skills need to be enhanced to make training effective.

• Through 20 modules, the course teaches these five general competencies identified by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI):

• Professional Foundations
• Planning and Preparation
• Instructional Methods and Strategies
• Assessment and Evaluation
• Management
• The course also includes two modules from the American Heart Association:
• Remediation
• Cultural Sensitivity

Upon completion of the course you will recieve a certification card valid for two years. 
Instructor candidates must first align with an AHA Training Center accepting new Instructors. The Training Center will provide an authorized code to purchase course materials or the online course key.

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and criticare care units.

This class includes both the self paced online  (only) component and the in classroom skills portion. This ACLS Online and Skills Course is an official AHA self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program. The online part of the ACLS course uses eSimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. 

 

This is a community event service given at no cost. To do an onsite location there would be the

cost to cover the expenses of the supplies & travel. 

This class includes both the self paced online component and the in classroom skills portion. This PALS Online and Skills Course is an official AHA self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program. The online part of the PALS course uses eSimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. 

This PALS course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. The goal of the PALS course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. 

Upon completion of the online component, you will have to come in for your skills portion of the PALS Course. An AHA PALS card will be issued once you have completed both parts successfully.
